Feature Film

Here we are looking for films with mainly fictional content. Films shown in this section are eligible for the following awards: Best Feature Film and Outstanding Artistic Achievement in a Feature Film.

Documentary films

Here we are looking for films with mainly non-fictional content. Animated documentaries may also be submitted. Films screened in this section are eligible for the following awards: Best Documentary Film and Outstanding Artistic Achievement in a Documentary Film.

Animated films

Here we are looking for films that have been created mainly using animation or cartoon techniques. Films shown in this section have the chance to win the following award: Best Animated Film.

Experimental Film

This section is dedicated to cinematic works that break with traditional storytelling. The section explores new possibilities for expression beyond genres and commercial conventions, presenting the medium of film as a bold and open field of experimentation. The programme committee reserves the right to award the audience prize in this section. Note button: Films with a maximum running time of 20 minutes may be submitted.

Social Impact Films

The Social Impact: Storytelling and Producing section focuses on activist and socio-critical films that engage in debates about human rights, sustainability, and the fight against injustice, and that particularly seek to encourage social change. Films screened in this section are eligible for the following award: Best Engaged Film: Storytelling and Producing. Along with the film submission, a short statement (approx. 1 page) describing your personal motivation, artistic vision and the film’s aspirations or intended impact should be sent to .

Kids and teens films

The Future section addresses viewers aged 6 and above or 12 and above. Feature films, documentaries, animated films and experimental films can be submitted. Films screened in this section are eligible for the following awards: Best Children’s Film and Best Youth Film.

Music videos

The music video section presents works that translate a piece of music into film. Both live-action films and animated music videos with a maximum running time of 15 minutes can be submitted.

The director must be 26 years of age or younger.

Screenplays

All German-language, unproduced screenplays for feature films with a planned minimum running time of 25 minutes are eligible for submission. Screenplays presented in this section have the opportunity to compete for the following award: Best Screenplay.

Pitches

In this section, nominated authors present their concepts for a feature film, documentary, series or format that has not yet been produced. Participants have the opportunity to compete for the following prize: Best Pitch.

Projection Mapping

We are looking for works with a duration of at least two to maximum eight minutes that combine narrative, aesthetics and space to create an immersive experience and expand the physical dimension of the location.

Multimedia Experience

This category is dedicated to projects that merge image and/or sound into immersive worlds. Whether through dynamic video compositions, abstract sound visualisations or multisensory explorations, this category celebrates works that transcend traditional media boundaries. We are looking for works that explore new ways of combining art and technology – through manipulation, distortion or harmonisation of both spheres.

Live Performance

Here we are looking for bold, unconventional projects that explore the relationship between sound, image and human presence in real time. These include experimental music performances, interactive audiovisual shows and forms of digital theatre. Whether through live visuals, immersive soundscapes or spontaneous audience interaction, this category stands for experimental media art that unfolds in the moment.
