Association

The association Freunde des Studierenden Film Festivals Sehsüchte e. V. was founded in 1998. It consists of members who have grown fond of Sehsüchte, primarily former organisers, members of the university, but also sponsors and partners of Sehsüchte, as well as interested parties from the media industry.

When the association was founded in 1998, the primary aim was to ensure the continuation of the festival. Due to the special organisational structure of the festival – the independent student teams change every year – the transfer of knowledge and the preservation of a festival memory are more difficult than at festivals with continuous teams. With the involvement of former organisers in the association and the close contact between association members and the current team, the continuation of a festival tradition is guaranteed and thus helps with the implementation of the next International Student Film Festival Sehsüchte.
