Theorists seemingly can’t stop putting out new definitions of genres. And yet, it remains an elusive goal to precisely separate each horror film from science fiction, and determine the exact moment a Western requires a „Neo-“. We go ahead and use all this confusion to our advantage, presenting genre films in all their variety: overused landscapes are broken down and built up anew, fresh protagonists eke out their place in veteran genres, and satires stare down the barrel of unabashed absurdity.
