What do I need to keep in mind when attending this year's festival?
What is different this year? This year Sehsüchte will not take place at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg as usual, but at different locations in Potsdam. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our festival center at Waschhaus Potsdam!
Also, with its 52nd edition, Sehsüchte wants to put a special focus on the sustainability of our festival.
What does that mean for you? Please bring your own lanyard (keychain) for your accreditation badge. Preferably use public transport to get there (all our locations are well connected and accessible). Pay attention to waste avoidance and waste separation at all locations and use our ashtrays.
In which festival locations will Sehsüchte take place?
This year Sehsüchte will take place at the following locations: Waschhaus Potsdam, Theaterschiff Potsdam, Thalia Kino (in Babelsberg), and the Filmmuseum Potsdam.

How do I get my free festival pass as a student from Potsdam/Brandenburg?
As a student of a Brandenburg university, you can get accredited for this year’s Sehsüchte edition for free.
Here are the four simple steps that will allow you to participate for free:
- Go to our website via this link
- Enter your university(!) email address
- Receive an email and use the link in the email to create a Sehsüchte account
- Book tickets for the events you want to attend.
The last point is necessary, because the places in our locations are limited. The tickets themselves don’t cost you anything! (except for the 2 minutes it takes to book them)
How do I redeem the code from the popcorn promotion?
The code from our popcorn promotion can be redeemed as a free ticket for all screenings and the Sehsüchte party.
Simply choose your favorite event and enter your code in the ticket options under “promotional code”. You have already activated your free ticket!
When, how and which tickets can I book for the events?
Tickets can be booked online as of NOW.
Here you can get an overview of the different ticket options.
You can either get tickets for single screenings and events, a day ticket, or even a festival pass for all festival days. Important: Even with a day ticket or festival pass you have to remember to book a ticket for the events you want to visit.
Are the event activities included in my ticket? Can I attend the award ceremonies/parties?
All events from our event program (workshops, panels, etc.) are free of charge. Important: With an accreditation or a festival pass you still have to get a (free) ticket, because the places are limited.
This also applies to our two parties! The opening party on Wednesday is free of charge. The Sehsüchte party on Saturday costs 5€, but with an accreditation it’s free of course!
Unfortunately, there are no tickets for the award ceremony on sale to the public. For the opening there are a few tickets up for grabs. Keep your eyes open – contingents can be released again!
Where can I get information about the films?
Information about the films and screenings of this year’s edition can be found here on the website or in our program booklet. You can pick up a program booklet starting at 3 PM on the first day of the festival (19.04.) at our Guest Center in the Waschhaus Potsdam.

The safety and well-being of our festival participants is our highest priority.

In order for all visitors and guests to feel comfortable, we would like to urge them to treat each other with solidarity and consideration.
